Diamondbacks Bring Back Popular Ballpark Pass With One Big Holiday Twist

Just in time for the holidays, the D-backs bring back a fan-favorite offering that makes attending every home game more accessible than ever.

Just in time for the holiday season, the Arizona Diamondbacks are bringing back one of the most fan-friendly deals in baseball: the Ballpark Pass. For $299, fans can lock in access to every single regular-season home game-plus a pair of preseason exhibition matchups.

That’s 81+ games for less than the price of a single high-end ticket in some ballparks. And yes, it’s real.

The concept isn’t brand new. A few years back, the D-backs tested the waters with a Summer Pass that covered games in June, July, and August.

It was a hit. So much so that the team expanded the idea into a full-season Ballpark Pass-and it’s been a staple ever since.

“It’s been a big hit with our fans,” said team president and CEO Derrick Hall. “Other teams have followed suit or asked us how we do it. For us, it’s about giving fans an affordable way to be part of the action all season long.”

Here’s how it works: fans who purchase the Ballpark Pass receive a text message before each home series, prompting them to opt in and reserve their seats. Tickets are then delivered straight to their phones via the MLB Ballpark App. It’s mobile-only, non-transferable, and designed to be as seamless as possible.

“They get a mobile notification asking if they want to opt in,” Hall explained. “They get their tickets sent right to their phone.

It’s just so easy and turnkey for the fans, which was important to us. We wanted to make sure that it’s not a hassle in any way.”

The seats are typically located in the upper deck, but there’s an option to upgrade through the app if fans want to get closer to the action. And this year, the team has added even more flexibility. Pass holders can now buy additional guest passes for individual games, and there’s a new feature that lets you link your account with friends so you can sit together-perfect for fans who want to make it a shared experience.

Another new twist for 2025: the Ballpark Pass can now be purchased as a gift. Whether it’s for a die-hard fan or someone just getting into baseball, it’s a unique present that lasts all season long.

Each year, the Diamondbacks typically sell around 4,000 Ballpark Passes. And what they’ve noticed is that a lot of fans who start with the pass end up wanting more.

That’s where the Advantage Membership comes in. It’s the team’s version of a season ticket plan, with options ranging from full-season to half-season, weekend, or series-based packages.

Advantage Members get extra perks-discounts at the Team Shop and concessions, early access to postseason tickets, and invites to exclusive events throughout the year. According to Hall, many Ballpark Pass holders eventually make the jump.

“What we end up seeing in these cases is that people get used to going to the ballpark,” Hall said. “They like going to the games. They then want the perks that every other Advantage Member or season ticket holder has, and they upgrade.”

Bottom line: this isn’t just a ticketing gimmick. It’s a long-term play to build relationships with fans and make baseball more accessible, especially for those who want to be part of the game-day energy without breaking the bank. For the Diamondbacks, it’s about more than filling seats-it’s about building a community that keeps coming back.
