Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade Buzz Just Changed Arizonas Week

Marvin Harrison Jr.'s potential trade has sparked significant interest from the Colts and Texans, marking a pivotal moment for the standout wide receiver's NFL journey.

Marvin Harrison Jr.’s run in Arizona appears to be coming to a close, and the Cardinals are already moving toward a trade that would send the former first-round pick elsewhere.

On Saturday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Arizona is finalizing a deal to trade Harrison. Because of that, he will not be active for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

Schefter also made clear that the move isn’t quite finished yet: “The one certainty is that Marvin Harrison’s time in Arizona is done,” Schefter added. “Arizona feels comfortable enough to know it can and will trade Harrison, which is why he will be inactive Sunday.

But no Harrison trade will be completed until after Sunday’s games are played.”

Harrison entered the league as the Cardinals’ No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after winning the 2023 Fred Biletnikoff Award. The production never fully matched the anticipation in Arizona. Through 33 career games, he has 1,578 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

The next stop hasn’t been announced, but two teams are known to be in the conversation. Earlier this week, ESPN’s Stephen Holder and Josh Weinfuss reported that the Indianapolis Colts have done their due diligence on Harrison.

They wrote, “Sources told ESPN that the Cardinals are not shopping Harrison but other teams are still doing their due diligence on the third-year receiver. Those include the Colts, with a source telling ESPN that they would entertain the idea of trading for Harrison, the son of Marvin Harrison Sr., the Hall of Famer who owns multiple Indianapolis receiving records,” Weinfuss and Holder wrote.

Schefter also reported that the Houston Texans have discussed a trade for Harrison. One possible fit there would be a reunion with former Ohio State teammate C.J.

Stroud. A Texans source told Schefter they can’t confirm or deny the team’s interest, but the need is obvious: Houston could use more help at wide receiver.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Drama Leaves Cardinals Offense In A Tough Spot

The Cardinals are suddenly trying to navigate another week without Marvin Harrison Jr., and the timing hardly helps an offense that has already had to keep adjusting around him. Harrison has hired agents Todd France and Tory Dandy, which adds another layer to a situation that has already stirred up plenty of trade buzz, even though he is not worried about those rumors. Now the bigger immediate issue is more practical than speculative: Arizona will be without him against the Lions.

There is a sense this could get resolved quickly, with the expectation around the league being that a deal will be in place for Harrison on Monday. Until then, the Cardinals are left filling a hole at wide receiver while their attention is split between what happens on the field this week and what happens next off it. For a team trying to settle its offense, that is about as awkward a setup as it gets. [Read more 🡒]

Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade Buzz Puts Cardinals In A Massive Spotlight

Trade chatter around Marvin Harrison Jr. has thrust the Cardinals into an unexpected spotlight, even as no deal has been finalized. Indianapolis has reportedly stepped away from talks after finding Arizonas price too steep, which tells you the Cardinals are not treating this like a routine move for a high-profile young receiver.

Houston has also been mentioned as a team in the mix, and that alone adds another layer of intrigue because of the possible connection to C.J. Stroud. For Arizona, the situation now centers on whether the asking price can be met and whether the buzz around Harrison leads to a deal at all, with no official confirmation yet from any side. Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade Looks Real As Cardinals Keep One Detail Quiet

Marvin Harrison Jr.s status has become one of the biggest loose ends around the Cardinals this week, with reports indicating Arizona is finalizing a trade involving the wide receiver. The move has advanced far enough that he is expected to sit out Sundays game against the Lions while the deal is being worked through, a sign this is more than simple speculation and has become an active roster situation.

What remains unclear is the destination, and Arizona has kept that part quiet for now even as social media chatter has pointed in a few directions. The Texans have emerged as the likeliest landing spot, while the Raiders, Chargers and Jets have also been mentioned, leaving one of the leagues most notable storylines waiting on the final confirmation.
