Marvin Harrison Jr. Is Giving Cardinals Fans Real Reason To Believe

Michael Wilson's insightful observation of Marvin Harrison Jr.'s renewed enthusiasm hints at a promising and impactful season ahead for the Arizona Cardinals.

The early signs out of Cardinals training camp point to something simple but important for Marvin Harrison Jr.: he looks like he’s enjoying himself again.

That was the takeaway Michael Wilson offered when talking about his teammate, and it’s the kind of detail that can matter just as much as any drill or stat line this time of year.

“It’s great to see him smiling and having fun playing football,” Wilson said via Darren Urban.

Harrison heads into his third season with Arizona after an up-and-down start to his career, and the expectation is that a new regime could help reset the tone around him. The Cardinals still have many of the same contributors from the last few years, but the organization is clearly moving into a different phase.

Jacoby Brissett also had strong praise for Harrison, pointing to the way he has handled himself and approached his work.

“I think somebody that has worked to get better every day,” Brissett said. “He's never too high, he's never too low, and he's just finding ways every day, you know, to perfect his craft.

And he has that in him. He wants to be a perfectionist and his ability to come out and work, you know, despite the outside noise, I think has been the most impressive thing because honestly, it doesn't show on the field.”

For Arizona, the hope is that this version of Harrison - looser, happier, and still grinding - can finally turn into the player the team has been waiting for. He’s expected to handle the bulk of the touches this season, which would not only put him in position for a breakout, but could also create more room for the rest of the offense.

The theme around Harrison early in his career has been consistency, and that remains the key. If he finds it, the payoff could be significant for both him and the Cardinals.

Cardinals Suddenly Have A Josh Sweat Decision Fans Cant Ignore

The Bears have spent part of mid-August doing their due diligence on the defensive line market, checking in on names such as Maxx Crosby, Josh Sweat and Vita Vea while they look for help up front. It is the kind of exploratory process that usually produces more calls than movement, and so far there has been no trade to hand anyone a finished solution, with medical questions, price tags and scheme fit all shaping the conversation.

For Arizona, Sweats name matters because he is still part of a larger ripple effect around the league, even if Chicagos interest has not turned into anything concrete. The Cardinals have been steady about where they stand on him, and the expectation inside the organization is that he will be available when the regular season arrives, which leaves this as one of those late-summer storylines that can linger without immediately resolving. Cardinals Suddenly Have A Carson Beck Question They Cant Ignore

Carson Becks preseason debut for the Cardinals hit an unexpected snag when the rookie quarterback was pulled at the last minute because of lingering rib discomfort. What looked like a routine ramp-up turned into a cautionary move, with the team choosing to slow things down rather than push a young passer through August reps he might not need.

Mike LaFleur said the decision was made to let Beck heal and keep the issue from becoming something bigger, and Arizona is now weighing how to handle his playing time in the remaining preseason games. With other quarterbacks also in the mix, the Cardinals are trying to balance evaluation with caution, a reminder that even in the preseason, every snap gets treated like it matters. [Read more 🡒]
