The Arizona Cardinals added some fresh legs on Wednesday, signing punter Jack Browning and safety Josh Minkins after injuries in their third preseason game forced the team to make moves ahead of the final tune-up.
Browning and Minkins were both brought in at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe, AZ, giving Arizona help at two spots after Blake Gillikin and Dadrion Taylor-Demerson were hurt.
Browning, listed at 5-11 and 190 pounds, most recently punted for the Orlando Storm of the UFL. He played in 11 games there and hit 29 punts for 1,408 yards, a 48.5 average, with 11 landing inside the 20-yard line.
Before that, he entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with Buffalo in 2024 after playing at San Diego State. He also spent time with the Bills and Ravens during the offseason, then signed with Tampa Bay’s practice squad.
Browning later appeared in five games for the Buccaneers in 2024, punting 10 times for 425 yards, a 42.5 average.
Minkins, who checks in at 6-1 and 207 pounds, also comes from the Orlando Storm. In seven games there, he recorded 32 tackles, including 22 solo stops, along with three passes defensed and one fumble recovery.
He entered the league in 2025 with New England as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Cincinnati. His college path included five seasons between Cincinnati and Louisville, and he played in 51 games with 28 starts.
Over that stretch, he put up 144 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, 18 passes defensed, four interceptions, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Browning will wear No. 49, while Minkins will wear No. 38.
