The NFL trade deadline is still a few weeks off, but Adam Schefter is already pointing to four teams that could start acting like sellers before Nov. 10.
On The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter named the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals as clubs to watch if they decide the smarter move is to trim salary and add draft picks rather than keep pushing through rough starts. For all four, the record tells the story.
"The teams that you look at are the teams that aren't winning that can shed salaries and pickup draft picks..

I would look at the Dolphins, Chargers, Titans, and Cardinals" ~ @AdamSchefter #PMSLive https://t.co/ZO6om2KZqP pic.twitter.com/5tqEnIZLx7
Tennessee and Los Angeles are in particularly ugly spots. The Titans are 0-5 after Sunday’s 26-3 loss to Houston, while the Chargers also sit at 0-5 after falling 23-17 to the Denver Broncos. The Chargers’ situation is even messier because of the injuries that have piled up and made it hard to get any real read on the roster.
Arizona, meanwhile, has already made a bold move of its own. The Cardinals traded wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans and got a 2027 second-round pick and a sixth-round pick in return, along with Harrison and a seventh-round selection going the other way.
Their season has been shaky since, with Arizona winning in Week 1 against the Chargers and then dropping four straight. The defense has also been hit hard, giving up 45 points to Detroit in Week 5.
Miami has been down this road too. The Dolphins began reshaping their roster during the offseason by dealing away major pieces like Jaylen Waddle, and they could keep looking for ways to build for later instead of chasing short-term fixes.
Schefter’s point was simple: when losses keep stacking up, teams can start viewing the deadline as a chance to collect future assets and move veterans who no longer fit the plan. And right now, these four have given enough reasons to at least listen.

Marvin Harrison Trade Timing Leaves Cardinals Fans With One Big Question
The Marvin Harrison move has already become one of those deals Cardinals fans are left to sort through after the fact. Reportedly sent from Arizona to the Houston Texans, the trade was believed to have been finalized before Sundays games, even though it did not become public until afterward, and Texans coach DeMeco Ryans ended up confirming it in a postgame press conference.
For Cardinals observers, the timing is what stands out almost as much as the transaction itself. Harrison still has to pass a physical before anything is official, which leaves one lingering piece of uncertainty in a situation that already felt unusual from the start. [Read more 🡒]
Cardinals Had A Few Bright Spots In A Loss That Exposed Too Much
The opening series offered Arizona a quick jolt and a reminder of what the offense can look like when it gets out ahead of the chains, but the good feelings faded fast from there. Even in a lopsided loss to Detroit, there were a few individual bright spots for the Cardinals, with Kendrick Bourne, Trey McBride and Budda Baker standing out on a day when the team needed steady playmakers wherever it could find them.
What made the defeat sting beyond the final margin was how many problems it exposed on the other side of the ball. Arizona had real trouble matching up in the middle of the field and finished with tackling issues that kept drives alive, a costly combination against an opponent built to punish mistakes. For a defense already searching for answers, the film will not be easy to sit through, especially with so much of the damage coming in ways the Cardinals could not seem to fix in real time. Cardinals Fans Want Bigger Changes After Another Brutal Start
A 1-4 start has left Cardinals fans restless, and the latest loss to the Lions only sharpened the frustration around a team that has not found much rhythm on either side of the ball. The roster already looks different after the trade of Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Texans, and the mood around the building reflects how quickly a season can tilt when early results keep piling up.
Amid the noise, there has also been growing curiosity about whether rookie quarterback Carson Beck could factor in more prominently as the losses mount. For now, though, the Cardinals are sticking with Gardner Minshew in front of him, even as the fan base pushes for bigger changes and the defense continues to draw heat for its uneven play.
