The Arizona Cardinals are lining up roster moves, and Tuesday’s tryout group gave a clear hint at where they may be looking for help. In all, seven players came through: one quarterback, three running backs and three receivers.
That mix makes sense given the current situation. The Cardinals lost Jeremiyah Love and Kendrick Bourne to injured reserve, so bringing in backs and wideouts fits the need. The quarterback workout could have been as simple as getting someone in to throw with the skill players, but it also could point to a possible practice squad opening if Jacoby Brissett is traded this week.
Among the quarterbacks, Bradley was back on Arizona’s radar after working out for the team in July of 2025. He has also spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars. Bradley entered the league as a rookie free agent with the Raiders in 2024 after four college seasons at Toledo and two at South Alabama.
At running back, Ulysses Bentley came in after being released last week from the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad. The 5-10, 200-pound back also moved between the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad and active roster in 2025, and he appeared in one game for Indianapolis this season.
Jermar Jefferson is a familiar name for Arizona. He spent time with the Cardinals on both the practice squad and active roster last season, playing in two games and logging six snaps on special teams.
A seventh-round pick by the Detroit Lions in 2021, Jefferson is 5-10 and 215 pounds. He spent four years moving between Detroit’s practice squad and active roster, and he has 96 career rushing yards on 21 carries in nine games.
The other back in for a look was Elijah Tau-Tolliver, an undrafted rookie this year out of Michigan State who also spent time with the Baltimore Ravens during the offseason.
Arizona also took a look at three receivers. One was Johnson, a fifth-round pick in 2020 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has also played for the Houston Texans, LA Rams and New York Jets, and he has 88 career catches for 1,025 yards and five touchdowns.
Joseph Manjack is an undrafted rookie who played last season at TCU after one year at USC and three at Houston. The 6-3, 205-pound receiver originally signed with the Denver Broncos but was cut before the season. In college, he totaled 134 receptions for 1,732 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Jamari Thrash rounded out the group. He is 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, and he was on the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad last month. Thrash played for the Cleveland Browns in 2024-25, appearing in 18 games, and he has 13 career catches for 129 yards.

Cardinals Still Have A Real Opening In The NFC Race
After eight weeks, the NFC picture still has enough clutter around the edges to keep Arizona in the conversation. The Cardinals sit at 3-5, and while that record leaves plenty of ground to make up, the standings around them have not exactly hardened into an untouchable group. A few teams currently holding playoff spots are still sorting themselves out, and there are enough clubs hovering in the chase to keep the conference race from feeling settled.
Week 9 only sharpens that sense of opportunity, with a slate that could keep reshuffling the middle of the NFC. For Arizona, the task is simple even if the path is not: stay close long enough for the standings to keep mattering. The Cardinals do not need a perfect run to remain relevant, but they do need the kind of week-to-week traction that turns a distant opening into something more realistic. [Read more 🡒]
Cardinals Backfield Suddenly Looks Like A Survival Test
Arizona entered training camp feeling good about its running back depth, but the room has thinned fast enough to change the conversation around the offense. Tyler Allgeier was the lone healthy back available in the recent game against the Cowboys, and he handled the moment well, giving the Cardinals at least one steady option while the rest of the group dealt with injuries.
The bigger concern now is how quickly the depth chart can stabilize before the season gets away from them. Jeremiyah Loves ankle issue has put his status in question, and Bam Knights concussion has only added to the uncertainty, leaving the Cardinals to weigh whether a longer-term roster move is the best way to get some relief. For now, Allgeier and Evan Hull may be the names carrying the load, which is not exactly how this backfield looked when camp opened. [Read more 🡒]
Cowboys Took A Brutal National Hit After Losing To Arizona
The Cowboys overtime loss to the Cardinals did more than sting in the standings. It kicked off another round of national scrutiny, with Colin Cowherd using the defeat as a launching point to hammer Dallas for the kind of uneven play that has followed a roster loaded with talent but too often short on consistency. From Arizonas side, it was the kind of win that can expose a bigger problem for an opponent than just one bad afternoon.
Cowherds criticism centered on the broader direction of the Cowboys, arguing that the issues go beyond a single game and into how the team is being managed week to week. He pointed to the disconnect between the roster and the results, then suggested the pressure could keep building if the slide continues. For a Dallas team already under the microscope, the loss in Arizona has only made the conversation louder. [Read more 🡒]
