The 49ers are still unbeaten, and Sunday brought another reminder of why their offense keeps rolling even when it takes hits. Wide receiver Mike Evans played through a rib injury, yet still came through as a major part of the attack. Veteran linebacker Fred Warner said Evans has a kind of energy that shows up before the ball is even snapped.
“Just a walking aura,” Warner said, via 49ersWebzone.com. “I mean, I can’t help it.
Like, I’m on the sideline watching, dude, crazy stuff. I’m like, ‘We have Mike Evans.’
Like, I can’t believe it. He’s unreal.
He really doesn’t say anything. He just shows up every week and just works and then goes out there on Sunday and just dominates you.
So, it’s unbelievable. He’s great.”
General manager John Lynch also pointed to another tough blow for San Francisco: the Week 4 knee injury that sidelined fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Lynch described what the loss means for the offense and made it clear how much Juszczyk does beyond the obvious box score stuff.
“It’s a significant loss. His factor grade is off the charts.
He’s a guy who, his processing, his ability to see things, his ability to adjust, his versatility, it’s all really, really important to us.” (KNBR)
Lynch added that the offensive line has stepped up and said the offense as a whole has been doing a better job staying on schedule. He credited multiple parts of the unit for that stability.
“It’s collective. It’s the run game.
It’s third downs. It’s Brock getting the ball out.
It’s our receivers being where they need to be.” (KNBR)
In Arizona, the Cardinals are sitting at 1-4 under first-year head coach Mike LaFleur, and he’s not entertaining a quarterback switch. After the team’s latest loss, LaFleur said Jacoby Brissett wasn’t the reason things went wrong.
“I’ve got way too many other things, you know, that I need to correct right now,” LaFleur told reporters. “Jacoby [Brissett] was not the problem.
We were a problem as a team today. And, again, that starts with me.”

Cardinals Just Made A Marvin Harrison Jr. Decision Fans Cant Ignore
The Cardinals moved on from Marvin Harrison Jr. in a deal with Houston, a jolt of a decision involving one of the most recognizable young names on the roster. In return, Arizona added draft capital, including a second-round pick and a sixth-rounder, while sending a seventh-rounder back to the Texans, a swap that immediately shifted the conversation from potential to what comes next.
Head coach Mike LaFleur framed the move as one made in the best interest of the club, and he also took responsibility for Harrisons performance while in Arizona. LaFleur stopped short of getting into Harrisons side of the story or the finer points of the trade, leaving the most important part of the fallout still hanging as the Cardinals try to explain what this means for their future. Cardinals Face Another Michael Bidwill Fight Fans Wont Ignore
Another legal fight is circling the Cardinals, this one carrying the kind of baggage that can linger well beyond the courthouse. The dispute stems from claims of racial discrimination, retaliation, defamation and constructive termination, and it lands at a time when any new off-field controversy around team ownership is bound to draw attention from fans who have seen plenty of turbulence already.
What makes the case especially notable is the NFLs familiar arbitration path, which can send disputes away from a public courtroom and into a league-controlled process. In this instance, the case was moved out of federal court and into arbitration, adding another layer to the long-running debate over how much transparency players and employees actually get when those clauses are invoked. Cardinals Crisis Is Putting Two Big Plans Under The Microscope
The Cardinals have reached a point in the season where every loss seems to drag a bigger question with it. At 1-4, they are trying to steady a roster that has been giving up points in bunches while also dealing with a quarterback situation that has not offered much traction, all as they head toward a matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.
Jacoby Brissett remains at the center of the conversation, because the offense has not done enough to ease the pressure on a defense that keeps getting pushed around. With quarterback changes and defensive fixes both now under the microscope, Arizona is facing the kind of week that can either clarify the plan or make the uncertainty around it even louder.
