The Arizona Cardinals’ preseason coverage is set, and the local TV plan looks a lot different from the regular season.
Arizona has already opened preseason play with its Hall of Fame Game appearance last week, but the three remaining exhibition games will all be shown locally on Arizona Family on CBS-5. In the regular season, the league’s network partners handle broadcasts with their own announcers. In preseason, the team takes over.
The Cardinals’ upcoming games on CBS-5 are:
Arizona Cardinals at Las Vegas Raiders, Thursday, Aug. 13, 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. Arizona time)
Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals, Saturday, Aug. 22, 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. Arizona time)
Arizona Cardinals at Green Bay Packers, Friday, Aug. 22, 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. Arizona time)
Each of the three broadcasts will include a 30-minute pregame show hosted by Mark McClune.
The booth will feature Paul Calvisi on play-by-play, former Cardinals linebacker and current ESPN analyst Sam Acho as the analyst, and Dani Sureck reporting from the sideline.
One preseason game will also reach a national audience: the Cardinals’ matchup with the Cowboys will air on NFL Network, and it will use the Cardinals’ TV broadcast.
On the radio side, play-by-play voice J.P Shadrick and analyst A.Q. Shipley will handle both preseason and regular-season games.
The team’s usual radio crew has historically been used for preseason TV broadcasts, with Calvisi and an analyst serving as the alternate radio pairing. This time, it looks like the Cardinals may wait to make that switch with Shadrick and Shipley, if they choose to do it at all.
