State Farm Stadium’s resume is hard to ignore. The Arizona Cardinals’ home has already hosted three Super Bowls, which ties it for the third most among current NFL stadiums. But in USA TODAY Sports’ latest ranking, that history didn’t buy it much of a boost.
The Glendale venue landed at No. 18 in the outlet’s list of 29 current NFL stadiums, with Buffalo’s new Highmark Stadium left out. That puts Arizona squarely in the bottom half, even though several other buildings with major Super Bowl credentials checked in much higher.
New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome, which has hosted eight Super Bowls, came in at No. 6.
Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, a six-time Super Bowl host, was No. 10.
Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium, also a three-time Super Bowl site, ranked No. 16.
USA TODAY Sports’ Nate Davis highlighted the stadium’s design and game-day setup, writing: "Ever wondered about its distinctive silhouette? Per its website, the silvery stadium is supposed to evoke a snake coiled around a barrel cactus … can’t say that about any other football forums.
When the roof is closed to block out the desert heat, you will remain cool in the air-conditioned interior - though the grass field can live outside for most of the week while getting sunlight and water. Make a point of seeing the Pat Tillman Freedom Plaza if you visit."
At the top of the ranking was Seattle’s Lumen Field, followed by Green Bay’s Lambeau Field and the Los Angeles Chargers’ SoFi Stadium. On the other end, Washington’s Northwest Stadium was last at No. 29, with Tennessee’s Nissan Stadium at No. 28 and Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium at No. 27.
The latest placement is also a drop from 2024, when USA TODAY Sports had State Farm Stadium at No. 13. This time around, it slid five spots.

Cardinals Suddenly Have Two New Roster Questions Before Preseason Finale
The Cardinals had to make a pair of quick roster moves this week, bringing in punter Jack Browning and safety Josh Minkins as they work through the final stretch of preseason. Browning arrives with a background that includes time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Orlando Storm, and he is stepping into punting duties while Blake Gillikin is sidelined by injury.
Minkins, who also comes over from the Orlando Storm, adds needed depth in the secondary as Arizona sorts through injuries at several spots before its preseason finale.
