Cardinals Fans Have A Trade Deadline Question They Didn't Expect

With a promising start to the season, the Las Vegas Raiders seek to boost their receiving arsenal by potentially acquiring one of two impact wide receivers identified by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Raiders’ 3-1 start has been one of the early surprises of the season, but the wide receiver room still looks like a problem that needs solving fast.

Las Vegas opened by beating the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers and New Orleans Saints, then took the Kansas City Chiefs to the wire in a 30-27 loss in Week 4. That run showed the hot start wasn’t just a soft-schedule mirage. It also made one thing even clearer: the Raiders need help at receiver.

That’s where Adam Schefter’s latest trade talk comes in. On “Sunday NFL Countdown,” Schefter named five possible trade candidates and pointed to two wideouts who could be on the move: Arizona Cardinals receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and Cleveland Browns receiver Jerry Jeudy.

“We’re gonna start with Marvin Harrison. The Cardinals are not all that enthralled with trading him, but other teams are doing their due diligence into Harrison.

Would not be a surprise if he were traded by Nov. 10,” Schefter said, referring to the NFL trade deadline.

“Jerry Jeudy, the Browns wide receiver. Cleveland has gotten a lot of production out of Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion, their two rookie wide receivers,” Schefter said. “Jeudy being squeezed out, he could be had before the trade deadline.”

The Raiders entered the offseason with a clear need at the position and didn’t do much to address it. Their biggest addition was Jalen Nailor, and he has never been more than a No. 3 receiver.

Now Nailor is hurt, and disappointing 2025 second-round pick Jack Bech is on injured reserve. That leaves Brock Bowers and Tre Tucker carrying a pass-catching group that is stretched thin.

Las Vegas may need two receivers, but getting even one would help.

If the choice came down to Harrison or Jeudy, Harrison is the more intriguing swing. He hasn’t lived up to being the No. 4 overall pick, but he’s only 24 and still has room to grow. He finally scored in Week 4, though he managed just one catch and has only five receptions for 85 yards on the season.

If Arizona does make him available, it likely won’t happen until closer to the deadline. But if Harrison is on the block, the Raiders should go hard after him. He would help now and, if they can unlock him, could be part of the long-term picture as well, especially with No. 1 overall draft pick Fernando Mendoza likely to take over at quarterback in 2027.

Jeudy would be the fallback option, and he may be the easier one to pry loose sooner. The Browns have gotten strong production from their rookie receivers, which has squeezed Jeudy out.

He’s been inconsistent and is having a rough 2026 season, but he still brings more than the Raiders currently have in the room. He also has a 1,200-yard season on his résumé from 2024, which is a reminder of the kind of production he can still provide if the situation changes.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade Talk Is Putting Cardinals Fans On Edge

Rumors around Marvin Harrison Jr. have quickly become the kind that can rattle a fan base, especially when a player with his profile is involved. For Cardinals supporters, the noise is coming from outside the building, with Indianapolis reportedly showing interest and a wider list of suitors also said to be monitoring the situation, including the Chiefs, Raiders, Bills, Giants and Texans.

The Colts interest carries extra intrigue because their ability to put together a deal is constrained by limited draft capital after past trades, which makes any real movement harder to engineer. Even so, the fact that Harrisons name is circulating at all is enough to keep Arizona followers on edge, and it leaves one of the leagues most closely watched wideout stories hanging in a tense spot. Cardinals Catch Lions Defense At A Tense Time

A rough afternoon in Carolina only added to the scrutiny around the Lions, and head coach Dan Campbell wasted little time addressing where things stand on defense. He confirmed that Kelvin Sheppard will stay on as defensive coordinator, while also making clear the unit is still a work in progress and that the staff is looking for ways to give other players a chance to help improve the performance.

For the Cardinals, that makes this a familiar kind of opponent-facing wrinkle to monitor, especially when a contender is trying to steady itself without overreacting to one bad result. Campbells message was less about a quick fix than a broader standard, with mediocrity off the table and improvement needed across every phase, which leaves Detroit carrying both the urgency and the uncertainty into the next stretch. Jeremiyah Love's Hot Start Comes With One Big Cardinals Question

Dane Brugler of The Athletic put together an early 2026 NFL All-Rookie Team after the first four games of the season, and it was enough to get Arizona rookie running back Jeremiyah Love some well-earned attention. Love was listed as the starting running back on the team, a nod to the way he has opened his pro career by leading all rookies in rushing yards and receptions out of the backfield.

For the Cardinals, the praise is encouraging but still comes with a reminder of how quickly these early-season judgments can shift. Bruglers list is built on a small sample, and Loves start has certainly been loud, but the bigger question is how long he can keep this pace going once defenses adjust and the season settles into its grind.
