Cardinals Fans Are Turning On One Part Of This Loss

Cardinals fans voice their growing frustration online after another disappointing loss characterized by costly errors and baffling coaching decisions.

The Cardinals found a way to turn a promising afternoon into a crushing finish, and the fan reaction came fast once the final whistle hit.

Arizona led 14-3, then watched the game slip away in a 36-24 loss to the Giants at MetLife Stadium. The closing sequence only made the frustration sharper: with first-and-goal at the Giants’ four-yard line, the Cardinals failed to punch in the tying touchdown, even though an extra point would have given them a win. The game ended with a pick-six as time expired.

Much of the anger landed on Jacoby Brissett. He threw three interceptions, came up empty on the final chance to score, and finished with two touchdown passes but a 55.2 passer rating, his worst since 2022. His 4.7 yards per completion also stood out for all the wrong reasons.

James said, "Jacoby needs to be shown the door, along with Monti for giving him that contract. If Bidwill could get fired, I would say him too."

Another fan was even more blunt: Jacoby is the worst QB in the NFL. HE IS ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS WHEN IT COMES TO CLUTCH MOMENTS

Ryan said, "It’s going to be a LONG season watching Brissett. Give me Minshew and let him just rip it.

Who cares. Brissett had Marv open on the final play and once again refused to come off his first read.

That all said, the offense is clearly a QB away…"

The criticism wasn’t limited to Brissett. Mike LaFleur took heat for the way the final drive was handled, especially the decision not to lean on the run game near the goal line. Fans were already boiling over the four straight pass calls from inside the 4-yard line, and the absence of Jeremiyah Love on key late snaps only added fuel.

One post put it this way: How do we not run the ball there at the end of the game with 1 timeout left? 4 yards, 4 downs, 4 throws... 1 pick 6Ugh.... pic.twitter.com/f38nkYfkjA

Z said, "Mike LaFleur & Arizona Cardinals staff are so arrogant that their No. 3 overall pick Jeremiah Love doesn’t see the field on the game-winning 12-play drive because of 'personnel fits.'”

Love finished with 63 yards on 14 carries, but that didn’t stop the complaints about his usage.

"HAVE to run the ball with J love on 3rd down and if he didn’t get in you then use your timeout," said J_Love_ERA.

The rookie head coach had earned some early-season patience, but this one pushed a lot of Cardinals fans past the point of waiting. The game became a catch-all for grievances about the offense, the defense, and the front office all at once.

Some fans went after Rallis and Monti, while others pointed to the bigger picture and the same old frustration that has hung over the franchise for years.

Bench Brissett, fire Rallis, fire Monti. Week 4 and I’m done with this team already.

Not great by MLF either. You don’t run the ball once from the 4 with a timeout?

Just infuriating

Same. Old.

Cardinals. 106 seasons7 playoff winsNothing. Changes.

Hence the Apathy from National Media

Tired of just nonsense and incompetence. This is a generational thing in the culture of the cardinals.

Losing and mismanagement. I can only hope for new ownership in this lifetime

Another 4-13 season with the 4th overall pick that doesn't move the needle. 38 years. Rinse and repeat.

Trey McBride Was At The Center Of A Brutal Cardinals Officiating Controversy

A tense moment late in the Cardinals-Giants game put Trey McBride at the center of an odd and ugly sideline scene in Week 4. In the fourth quarter, a sideline official was recorded using profane language directed at the Arizona tight end, turning an ordinary in-game exchange into something that quickly spilled across social media.

McBrides teammates stepped in and held him back on the sideline after the interaction, underscoring how quickly the moment escalated. The viral video added another layer to a game that already had plenty of emotion attached to it, and it left Arizona with another officiating flashpoint to sort through after the final whistle. Cardinals Fans Are Demanding Accountability After A Trey McBride Flashpoint

The Cardinals-Giants game ended up drawing attention for a moment that had little to do with the play on the field, as a referee was seen shouting obscenities at Arizona tight end Trey McBride. It quickly became the kind of sideline flashpoint that can overshadow an otherwise routine NFL Sunday, especially when it involves a player as visible to Cardinals fans as McBride.

Arizona supporters wasted little time pushing for accountability online, with criticism of the official spreading fast and calls mounting for the league to fine, suspend or even fire him. The NFL has not announced any discipline yet, but the episode has put pressure on the league to address what happened, and a statement still feels like the next shoe to drop. [Read more 🡒]

Cardinals Loss To Giants Turned On One Brutal Late Flag

The Cardinals Week 4 loss to the Giants had plenty of reasons attached to it, but one late flag loomed especially large. A holding call on defensive lineman Dante Stills during a critical moment late in the third quarter kept New Yorks drive alive, and the Giants made the most of the extra chance by punching in a touchdown that flipped the lead.

For Arizona, the frustration was about more than a single play. Offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur pointed to the teams penalty issues afterward, underscoring how the little mistakes have to get cleaned up if the Cardinals want to avoid letting games tilt on self-inflicted moments like that one.
