The Arizona Cardinals have a new voice on the radio. The team announced that J.P. Shadrick will take over play-by-play duties, stepping into the spot previously held by Dave Pasch.
Shadrick arrives with a long resume. He brings more than 20 years of play-by-play experience across NFL and college football, PGA Tour golf and minor league baseball.
Since 2022, he has called NFL games on radio for Westwood One Sports, including London games, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and key late-season matchups. He has also been a national college football play-by-play voice for Touchdown Radio Network since 2017 and has worked as a studio host since 2016.
His background also includes 14 seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he served as a senior reporter. During that stretch, he hosted the weekly radio shows for the last six Jaguars head coaches and worked as a pregame and postgame radio host on game days. He also contributed to Jaguars Television Network programming and handled Jaguars.com coverage of free agency, the NFL Draft and other major offseason events.
Originally from Trussville, AL, Shadrick graduated from the University of Alabama in 2004.
He’ll join A.Q. Shipley in the Cardinals’ booth, giving Arizona a new radio pairing after recent changes that also included Ron Wolfley stepping away. Dani Sureck remains on the sideline as a reporter.
Shadrick is set to make his Cardinals debut on Thursday, August 13, when Arizona visits the Raiders in Las Vegas for a 5:00 PM kickoff from Allegiant Stadium. Cardinals games will continue to air on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. He’ll also take part in other Cardinals broadcast programming and events during the year.
"Dave Pasch is one of the great voices in our game and I appreciate the high standard that he left behind," Shadrick said to AZCardinals.com.
"I'm eager to work toward matching that but also take it further in my own style. I'm fired up to work with A.Q. Shipley too, his great personality combined with his in-depth knowledge of the game in all aspects makes him a top-tier analyst."

Walter Nolen entered the league with plenty of buzz when Arizona took him 16th overall in 2025, and his first season offered a little of everything except the full breakout the Cardinals were hoping to see. Cardinals Backfield Battle Just Got More Crowded In Camp
The Cardinals added another layer to their backfield evaluation this week by claiming running back Evan Hull off waivers and bringing in Jermar Jefferson for a workout as training camp continues to sort out the depth chart. Hull arrives after stops with the Texans, Colts, Steelers and Saints, giving Arizona another option to examine as the competition for reserve snaps and practice reps keeps building.
Arizona also used the waiver wire to add defensive tackle Cam Horsley, a move that required parting with defensive tackle Coziah Izzard and wide receiver Tejhuan Palmer to clear room. Horsley comes over after being waived by the Titans following a brief stint with the team, and while the extra additions help across the roster, the more interesting storyline for the Cardinals remains how many bodies they keep cycling through the running back group before camp starts to narrow.
