The Arizona Cardinals are embarking on an exciting new chapter with the groundbreaking of their state-of-the-art training facility and business offices. Owner Michael Bidwill emphasized the importance of this multi-generational decision, highlighting its player-first, performance-driven focus aimed at benefiting both the team and the wider Arizona community.
Since 1990, the Cardinals have been based in Tempe, but the need for modern facilities has become pressing. Their new home will be a sprawling 217-acre site in north Phoenix, acquired for $136 million at a state land auction. This significant upgrade is set to open its doors in 2028.
The ambitious project dedicates 30 acres to the team’s football facilities and business offices. The remaining area is set to transform into a vibrant mixed-use development, featuring housing and an entertainment district, all designed to be accessible even during Arizona’s scorching summers.
Players will enjoy three grass practice fields and a fieldhouse with a full-size turf field, alongside an expanded locker room that promises to enhance their day-to-day experience.
Cardinals safety Budda Baker expressed enthusiasm about the development, noting that the new facility will not only benefit the community but also significantly impact the players' futures.
