The Anaheim Ducks delivered another thrilling comeback victory, edging out the Calgary Flames 3-2 after trailing 2-1. Veteran forward Mikael Granlund, a seasoned presence on the ice, acknowledged the need for the team to find more efficient ways to secure wins.
Granlund, reflecting on the game, noted, "I think there are easier ways to find a way to win a game, but that’s how it’s been." His words underscore the Ducks' gritty determination, but he also hinted at the necessity for strategic adjustments as the playoffs loom on the horizon, set to begin on April 18, 2026.
The Finn emphasized the significance of strong starts and early leads, especially crucial in the high-stakes environment of playoff hockey. "Obviously, we’re gonna try to get better starts, get the first goal, and all that.
We know in the playoffs that’s going to be really important. So yeah, we’re gonna get better at that, but at the same time, maybe finding a way.
So that’s all that matters right now."
As the playoff race intensifies, Granlund expressed optimism about the Ducks' current form. Their upcoming clash against the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place is highly anticipated, and Granlund is clearly eager for the challenge.
"It’s going to be a fun game, a good game. So we’re all excited about that.
So yeah, we’re waiting for it," he shared.
With four consecutive victories under their belt, the Ducks are gaining momentum at just the right time. Granlund highlighted the team's focus and resilience, saying, "We’re playing pretty good.
We’re in every game, you know, like we give ourselves a chance. So yeah, obviously we know there’s not a lot of regular season left, and then it’s gonna be the playoffs, but just gonna go out there and focus on one game at a time and try to be as good as we can."
Following their matchup with the Oilers, the Ducks will return to Southern California to face the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Honda Center on March 30. As the regular season winds down, the Ducks are honing their sights on the playoffs, determined to carry their winning ways into the postseason.
