Ryan Grubb Stuns Fans by Revealing Alabama's Offensive Line Battle Outcome

Alabama's offensive line sees early decisions as Ryan Grubb confirms left tackle and right tackle starters, with attention turning to fill the guard positions amidst significant roster changes.

Alabama football's spring practice is buzzing with position battles, and outside the quarterback competition, all eyes are on the offensive line. Offensive Coordinator Ryan Grubb has shed light on a key development: the left tackle position is no longer up for grabs.

Returning to the line is sophomore Michael Carroll, the lone starter from last year, now firmly set at right tackle. With the Transfer Portal and high school recruits bringing in 11 new faces, plus a fresh coaching perspective from Adrian Klemm, the line is undergoing a significant transformation.

Carroll's role is secure, and expectations are high for Cal Poly transfer Racin Delgatty to command the center position. But the big news is at left tackle. Grubb has confidently declared that redshirt freshman Jackson Lloyd will take the reins.

Lloyd, a standout 4-star recruit from the 2025 class, has quickly risen to the challenge. Despite competition from seasoned SEC transfers like Mississippi State's Jayvin James, Texas' Nick Brooks, and Michigan's Ty Haywood, Lloyd's progress has been remarkable. His development since the end of last season has solidified his spot, a testament to his hard work and potential.

This fall, Lloyd will protect the blindside for either Austin Mack or Keelon Russell, both of whom are vying for their first starting quarterback role. With Carroll, Lloyd, and Delgatty seemingly locked in, the focus now shifts to filling the two guard positions. Coaches Kalen DeBoer, Grubb, and Klemm have their work cut out for them, but they're already ahead in shaping a formidable line for the upcoming season.
