Ryan Grubb Praises Crimson Tide Center's Outstanding Spring Performance

Ryan Grubb highlights Racin Delgatty's impressive start at center as spring competition heats up at Alabama.

As the Alabama Crimson Tide gear up for another promising season, one key position they're focusing on during spring practice is at center. With Parker Brailsford heading to the NFL, the competition is heating up between Racin Delgatty and Kaden Strayhorn to fill that crucial spot.

On Thursday, Alabama's offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb shared insights into the ongoing battle for the center position. He had high praise for Delgatty, noting, "Racin Delgatty has been doing an awesome job at center. He’s really taken the reins quickly, so I’m excited to see him out there."

Delgatty, who transferred from Cal Poly, brings experience and leadership, having started 11 games last season. His transition seems seamless, especially considering Alabama's need for stability on the offensive line, with only right tackle Michael Carroll returning as a starter.

The urgency for a solid center became even more pronounced after backup Joseph Ionata entered the transfer portal following Alabama's 11-4 campaign last season. Meanwhile, Kaden Strayhorn, a transfer from Michigan, remains a strong contender to rotate in at center. Both Grubb and head coach Kalen DeBoer have hinted that Delgatty currently has the edge.

As the spring practice unfolds, this battle at center will be one to watch, with the potential to significantly impact Alabama's offensive line dynamics.
