DJ Huggins Stuns with Alabama Spring Practice Recap and Visit Plans

Peach State standout DJ Huggins reflects on his Alabama spring practice visit, hinting at a budding relationship with Coach Derrick Nix ahead of his official June visit.

Three-star receiver DJ Huggins from Kennesaw, GA, is catching the attention of college football heavyweights. On March 4, he announced an offer from Alabama and wasted no time setting up an official visit to Tuscaloosa for June 12-14.

Huggins, standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 170 pounds, showcased his skills at The Opening in Atlanta over the weekend. During the event, he shared his excitement about the Crimson Tide's interest and his upcoming visit.

Reflecting on the offer, Huggins described the moment as surreal. "I was training when I got the call.

It's a testament to all the hard work paying off," he said. Alabama receivers coach Derrick Nix is keen to build a strong relationship with both Huggins and his family.

Huggins is eager to meet Coach Nix in person to get a sense of his coaching style and see if Alabama feels like the right fit.

The Georgia native is particularly interested in observing his potential future position coach up close. He got a taste of that experience on Tuesday afternoon, attending Alabama's second spring practice and getting an early look at the program that could soon become his home.
