Amari Niblack Declares for NFL Draft But Leaves One School Unmentioned

After four seasons and three SEC schools, Amari Niblack is heading to the NFL-while leaving one stop notably unmentioned in his farewell.

Amari Niblack is officially heading to the NFL.

After a college journey that spanned four seasons and three programs, the tight end announced Saturday that he’s declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft. In a farewell message posted to Instagram, Niblack thanked Alabama and Texas A&M - the two schools he chose to highlight from his collegiate career - as he closed the book on his time in college football and looked ahead to the next chapter.

“First and foremost, I thank God. Everything I am and everything ahead is because of Him,” Niblack wrote. “I’m grateful to The University of Alabama & Texas A&M University for the opportunity to compete, grow, and represent these programs at the highest collegiate level.”

He also showed love to the coaches, staff, and teammates who helped shape his path, and to his family, whose support, he said, was the foundation of his journey.

While his farewell post didn’t mention Texas - where he spent the 2024 season - Niblack’s college career tells the story of a player who kept grinding through each stop, even when the stat sheet didn’t always reflect the effort.

Niblack first made his mark at Alabama, where he played in 2022 and 2023. His sophomore year was his most productive, hauling in 20 catches for 327 yards and four touchdowns. That kind of output showed flashes of his potential as a vertical threat - a big-bodied target who could stretch the seam and create mismatches in the passing game.

After transferring to Texas for the 2024 season, Niblack saw a dip in production. He managed just five receptions for 33 yards across nine games. It was a quieter year statistically, but he remained part of the rotation and continued to develop his game in a new system.

In 2025, Niblack made another move, this time to Texas A&M, where he suited up for all 13 games. He recorded five catches for 69 yards, contributing in a more limited role but staying healthy and available throughout the season - something that matters to scouts evaluating durability and consistency.

Now, with his college career in the rearview mirror, Niblack is betting on himself as he takes the leap to the pros. His frame, athleticism, and flashes of playmaking ability - especially from his time at Alabama - will likely draw interest from teams looking to develop a versatile tight end.

The numbers won’t jump off the page, but Niblack’s journey is about more than just stats. He’s shown resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to keep working, no matter the circumstances. That mindset - paired with his physical tools - gives him a shot to make an impression at the next level.

As Niblack put it in his post: “This chapter of my college football career is closed. I’m moving forward with purpose and confidence into the next chapter pursuing my career at the next level and entering the 2026 NFL Draft. All glory to God.”

The road hasn’t always been smooth, but it’s led him here - to the doorstep of the NFL, with everything still in front of him.
