TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team is making waves in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) with standout performances from Amari Allen, Aden Holloway, and Labaron Philon Jr., who have all earned prestigious postseason honors.
Leading the charge is Labaron Philon Jr., who has secured a spot on the First Team All-SEC. This marks a continuation of Alabama's impressive streak under head coach Nate Oats, with Philon becoming the sixth player in seven years to earn this accolade.
Philon's dynamic play, averaging 21.5 points and 4.8 assists per game, places him third in SEC scoring and 15th nationwide. His ability to shoot over 50% from the field while maintaining these stats is a rare feat, achieved by only four Division I players since 2000.
Aden Holloway, another key player for the Tide, has been named to the Third Team All-SEC. Holloway, previously recognized on the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2024, continues to shine with an average of 16.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.
His shooting prowess is evident, ranking second in the SEC with a 43.4% field goal percentage. Holloway’s scoring consistency, with ten games of 20 or more points, underscores his impact on the court.
Amari Allen, meanwhile, has been selected for the conference's All-Freshman Team, making him the ninth freshman under Oats to receive this honor. This achievement ties Alabama with Kentucky for the most All-Freshman honorees in the league during Oats' tenure.
Since Oats took the helm in 2019, Alabama has dominated the First Team All-SEC selections, boasting seven honorees, the most in the SEC. This marks the first time since the late 1970s that Alabama has achieved four consecutive years with First Team All-SEC selections, showcasing the program's resurgence and sustained excellence.
These accolades not only highlight the individual talents of Philon, Holloway, and Allen but also reflect the cohesive strength and future promise of Alabama basketball under Coach Oats. The Crimson Tide is setting a high bar in the SEC, and fans have every reason to be excited about what's to come.
