The 2026-27 NFL season is here, and Alabama’s footprint is impossible to miss. One of the clearest candidates is Minnesota Vikings outside linebacker Dallas Turner. After not starting a game as a rookie, Turner was on the opening drive in 10 of his 17 appearances last season.
His production climbed with the increased role: 66 tackles, 11 for loss, 15 quarterback hits, eight sacks, four forced fumbles and three pass breakups. The 17th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft enters this year expected to be a major voice in the Vikings’ front seven, especially after Minnesota traded Pro Bowl edge rusher Jonathan Greenard and released defensive lineman Javon Hargrave and Alabama’s Jonathan Allen this offseason.
If Turner keeps moving along the same path, a Pro Bowl nod is in play.
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jihaad Campbell is in a similar spot heading into his second year. As a rookie, he started 10 of 17 games and finished with 80 tackles, which ranked fourth on the team, along with three pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
The 31st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is set to become a full-time starter in 2026 after Nakobe Dean declared for free agency. Campbell has already shown the kind of tackling ability that can translate fast, and his Year 2 surge at Alabama after earning a starting job offers a familiar blueprint.
Cincinnati Bengals safety Jordan Battle already put together a strong season last year, but there’s room for more. In his third NFL campaign, he posted 125 tackles, which ranked 21st in the league, plus six pass breakups, four interceptions and two forced fumbles.
It was also the first time he started all 17 games, after totaling 13 starts across his first two seasons. With Cincinnati’s defense being revamped, Battle could take another step and push himself even higher in the conversation.
