Alabama Stuns with Strategic Move to Flip Nebraska Commit

Alabama leverages NC State transfer Noah Rogers' influence to potentially sway Amir Brown, adding depth to their already impressive recruiting class.

Alabama's football program is making waves on the recruiting trail, and this time, it's thanks to the efforts of newcomer Noah Rogers. Transferring from NC State, Rogers is not just here to catch passes-he’s also catching the attention of recruits, notably three-star running back Amir Brown.

Brown, currently committed to Nebraska, might be reconsidering his options thanks to Rogers' influence. Both hail from Rolesville High School in North Carolina, and Rogers is leveraging that connection to encourage Brown to visit Tuscaloosa. It’s a move that could pay dividends for Alabama, especially with Rogers emphasizing how well Brown’s play style could fit into the Crimson Tide’s offense.

Kalen DeBoer and GM Courtney Morgan have a knack for identifying talent early, often before recruits rise in the rankings. This strategy has helped Alabama secure back-to-back top-five recruiting classes. While Brown, the 26th-ranked running back nationally, wasn’t initially on their radar, the Tide’s interest has grown, especially with Rogers bridging the gap.

Brown’s journey has been interesting, having already de-committed from North Carolina before his current commitment to Nebraska. His willingness to reconsider his options could play in Alabama's favor, especially with the Tide's recent struggles in the run game. Despite landing five-star running back EJ Crowell, Alabama's rushing attack ranked a disappointing 131st in success rate last season.

Adding Brown to the 2027 class could address this need, providing depth behind Crowell. While Brown may not yet be an elite prospect, there's potential for him to rise in the rankings during his senior year, making him a valuable addition to the Tide’s roster. With Rogers leading the recruiting charge, Alabama fans have reason to be optimistic about the future.
