Alabama Star Accepts Senior Bowl Invite Joining Growing Crimson Tide Group

Alabama edge rusher LT Overton joins a growing list of Crimson Tide stars heading to the 2026 Senior Bowl, setting the stage for a talent-packed showdown in Mobile.

Alabama defensive end LT Overton is officially headed to Mobile. The 6-foot-5, 278-pound pass rusher has accepted his invitation to the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl, adding another Crimson Tide name to an already stacked list of participants from Tuscaloosa.

That makes seven Alabama players now confirmed for the annual all-star showcase, which doubles as a critical proving ground for NFL hopefuls. Overton joins wide receiver Germie Bernard, tight end Josh Cuevas, running back Jam Miller, linebackers Deontae Lawson and Justin Jefferson, and defensive lineman Tim Keenan on the Senior Bowl roster. The game is scheduled for January 31 at Hancock Whitney Stadium and will be televised on NFL Network.

Overton’s path to this point has been anything but linear. A former five-star recruit out of Milton, Georgia, he began his college career at Texas A&M before transferring to Alabama in 2024.

This season, he’s made his presence felt on the Crimson Tide’s defensive front, tallying 20 tackles and four sacks in 12 games. While he missed both the SEC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff semifinal against Oklahoma due to medical reasons, he’s been cleared to return for the Rose Bowl matchup against Indiana on New Year’s Day.

His return is big not just for Alabama’s playoff hopes, but also for Overton’s draft stock. The Senior Bowl offers a unique opportunity for players like him to showcase their skills in front of NFL scouts, coaches, and executives in a competitive, pro-style environment. For a player with Overton’s size, athleticism, and versatility, it’s a chance to solidify himself as a Day 2 draft pick-or maybe even climb higher with a strong week in Mobile.

The Crimson Tide aren’t the only ones well represented in this year’s Senior Bowl. The in-state talent pool is deep, with Auburn sending two of its own: offensive lineman Jeremiah Wright and defensive end Keyron Crawford.

There’s also a strong Alabama high school connection among the invitees. Texas Tech defensive lineman Lee Hunter (Blount High), Clemson edge rusher T.J.

Parker (Central Phenix City), Texas A&M linebacker Scooby Williams (Ramsay), and Louisville wide receiver/return man Caullin Lacy (Faith Academy) all trace their roots back to the state.

Nationally, the Senior Bowl roster continues to grow with standout names across the college landscape. Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, Baylor tight end Michael Trigg, Florida center Jake Slaughter, LSU wideout Barion Brown, and Missouri edge rusher Zion Young are all set to participate. Texas is sending a trio of defenders in safety Michael Taaffe, edge rusher Cashius Howell, and cornerback Will Lee, while Texas A&M adds offensive lineman Trey Zuhn to the mix.

More names will be added as the game approaches, but one thing’s already clear: the 2026 Senior Bowl is shaping up to be a must-watch event for NFL evaluators and college football fans alike. For LT Overton and dozens of others, it’s the next big step toward the NFL-and a chance to turn heads on one of the sport’s biggest pre-draft stages.
