Alabama’s offensive line is trying to move past a rough night in Knoxville, and the response inside the program has been blunt.
The Crimson Tide were sacked five times by Tennessee on Saturday, one week after Georgia got to Keelon Russell four times. That kind of pass protection is hard to ignore, and Alabama’s starting right guard Michael Carroll said the message from offensive line coach Adrian Klemm was clear.
“I mean, the message was that was an embarrassing performance, and we need to come together as a group and never let that happen again,” Carroll said.
Ryan Grubb also took ownership for the offense’s showing as a whole. Alabama managed just 10 points in the loss, and the offensive coordinator didn’t try to deflect.
“More questions than answers right now, and I think that it starts with me,” Grubb said. “I thought I had a good game plan.
This isn’t a point-the-fingers-at-the-kids, kind of day. We’re pissed off.
I thought I had them ready to play, and I didn’t. The bottom line is we got outplayed.
They played their butts off. I think they’re a good team.
We certainly didn’t show anywhere close to the caliber of team that that I know that we are. It’s a long season.
We still got everything in front of us. I think the guys know that.
But really just super disappointing. A lot of hours and time put into 10 points, and it’s embarrassing.
And if I was a fan or a supporter, I’d be pissed off too. I know our guys are going to come back ready to work.
I just wouldn’t count these guys out.”
Now Alabama gets a chance to answer against Texas A&M on Saturday.

Alabama Could Catch Texas A&M At The Perfect Time
Texas A&Ms first injury report for Week 8 gives Alabama a clearer picture of the challenge ahead, and it comes with some notable absences. Wide receivers Terry Bussey and Kelshaun Johnson, along with offensive lineman Blake Ivy, were listed out, while several other key names landed in the questionable column as the buildup to Saturday continues. For an Alabama team trying to measure itself in conference play, any edge in availability matters, especially against a roster that has already had to manage its health carefully.
Mike Elko said the decision to rest injured players in the previous game was valuable for recovery, which is the kind of detail Alabama will be watching closely as the week unfolds. The report does not settle everything yet, but it does hint at a game that could look different depending on who is able to go, and that uncertainty is exactly what makes this matchup worth tracking all the way to kickoff. Alabama Faces A Troubling Injury Question Ahead Of Texas A&M
The SECs new injury reporting policy has already made Alabamas weekly picture a little clearer for conference games, and it also puts extra attention on the Tides health heading into Texas A&M. Zabien Brown and EJ Crowell are both dealing with lower leg injuries and are being evaluated, while Crowell is expected to practice during the week. Ryan Coleman-Williams had arthroscopic surgery for a meniscus injury and is not expected to practice, which adds another name to a growing list of players the staff has to monitor closely.
Racin Delgatty and Terrance Green are making progress, but both remain week-to-week, leaving Alabama with several situations still very much in motion. Jeremiah Beaman and Cayden Jones will miss the 2026 season because of ACL injuries, a reminder of how much depth can be tested over time even before the grind of October really settles in. For a team preparing for a major SEC matchup, the question is not just who is available now, but how many of these injury timelines can move in the right direction before Saturday. [Read more 🡒]
Alabama Faces A Texas A&M Threat That Could Change Everything
Texas A&M is heading back into conference play with one of the leagues toughest assignments, a road date at No. 13 Alabama in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The matchup comes at an interesting moment for the Crimson Tide, who are trying to steady themselves after a loss to Tennessee, and it puts another spotlight on a game that already has plenty of SEC weight attached to it.
The Aggies will bring a few players worth watching into Saturdays 2:30 kickoff on ABC, including freshman running back KJ Edwards, edge rusher Keelon Russell and kicker David Olano. If Texas A&M is going to make this a real threat for Alabama, it likely has to come through those kinds of individual contributions, especially in a road environment where every possession matters.
