Nate Oats keeps stacking the board, and Alabama’s 2027 recruiting picture just got another big name on it.
The Crimson Tide added 4-star power forward Zion Green to their official visit list for September 25, giving Oats and assistant Preston Murphy another elite frontcourt target to work with this fall. Green is the No. 27 overall player in the 247 composite, and 247’s Dushawn London also reported that he’ll visit Oklahoma, Kansas and Ole Miss.
Green is a 6-foot-9, 190-pound forward originally from Philadelphia who now plays at Chandler Prep in Arizona. He fits the kind of stretch-big profile Oats has long chased, with the chance to develop into the sort of versatile forward Alabama has valued in recent years. He’ll need to add strength, but the shooting numbers jump off the page: Green recently hit 41% from three and 78% at the free-throw line in Pro16 play.
Alabama’s 2027 class is still empty for now after Anderson Diaz reclassified into 2026 and joined the Tide for this upcoming season, but the recruiting push is already well underway. Oats and Murphy have been building what looks like a crowded official visit calendar, and Green is just the latest high-end addition.
One of the biggest names already on deck is 5-star small forward Malachi Jordan, who is scheduled to visit on 10/10. 4-star point guard TJ Jamison Jr. is also listed for that date, though that trip may not happen after his commitment to Baylor. Even so, Alabama’s fall slate is shaping up to be a heavy one, and more names are expected to be added in the coming weeks.
Last fall, Alabama hosted 11 official visitors, so this cycle could grow a bit more before it’s done. The larger recruiting window is also creeping closer, with the early signing period set for November 11 through November 18 and the late signing period coming in April. Most of the top prospects are expected to sign during the early period, even if some of their commitment announcements come later.

WWE standout Oba Femi, better known to Crimson Tide followers as former track athlete Isaac Odugbesan, stopped by the universitys athletic facilities and spent time with the football team and coach Kalen DeBoer, turning the visit into one of those feel-good moments that reminds everyone how wide Alabamas athletic reach really is.
Femi also took in the upgrades around the facilities, and he was complimentary about the work ethic he saw from the football side.
