Alabama Recruiting Has An Early Problem Fans Will Notice

Despite a disappointing 2027 recruiting class rank, Alabama's strategic quarterback commitments hint at a promising future.

Kalen DeBoer and Alabama are staring at a recruiting ranking that doesn’t match the standard in Tuscaloosa. ESPN has the Crimson Tide’s 2027 class sitting at No. 32 in the country, a number that lands well below where a program like Alabama usually expects to be.

That doesn’t mean the class is empty, though. The Tide have already started building around the quarterback spot, and that’s where the most obvious firepower sits. Alabama has commitments from Elijah Haven and Trent Seaborn, giving the program two high-end options to work with as it plans for the future.

Haven brings the loudest résumé of the group. The five-star prospect has stacked big numbers across multiple seasons, starting with a 2023 campaign in which he completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 2,205 yards, 35 touchdowns, and three interceptions while also running for 633 yards and 12 scores. He followed that up in 2024 by hitting 60.7 percent of his throws for 3,093 yards, 37 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, plus 948 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns.

Then came his huge 2025 season. Haven completed 72.3 percent of his passes for 3,931 yards and 62 touchdowns, while adding 794 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. That kind of production gives Alabama a quarterback with real star potential.

Seaborn offers plenty of production of his own. In 2023, he completed 72 percent of his passes for 2,601 yards, 27 touchdowns, and six interceptions, while rushing for 80 yards and two touchdowns. He stayed productive in 2024, finishing at 64 percent passing for 2,675 yards, 26 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, along with 256 rushing yards and one touchdown.

His strongest season came in 2025, when he completed 71.5 percent of his passes for 3,692 yards, 35 touchdowns, and seven interceptions and added 108 rushing yards and five scores.

If either Haven or Seaborn develops the way Alabama hopes, the Crimson Tide should have a real answer at quarterback in the years ahead. Still, with a ranking of No. 32, there’s work to do if DeBoer and his staff want this class to look like one that can help Alabama stay in the national championship picture. A strong finish to the season could help them make a push with more elite recruits.

Former Alabama Rusher Sparks New Debate After Another Career Twist

Noah Carters path has taken another sharp turn, and it leaves one more question hanging over a career that has already changed directions once. The former Alabama edge rusher, who transferred to Georgia Tech, was removed from the Yellow Jackets football program after appearing in four games this season and still managing three sacks despite dealing with injury issues.

For Alabama fans who watched him leave and then keep producing elsewhere, the latest development adds another layer to an already unusual story. Georgia Tech has not offered an official reason for the dismissal, so for now Carters next step is unclear, and the situation only deepens the debate around a player whose talent has never been in doubt. Alabama Gets A Crucial Break Before A Massive LSU Test

The bye week comes at a good time for Alabama after its recent win over Texas A&M, giving the Crimson Tide a chance to catch its breath and reset before the stretch run. At 6-2 overall and 4-2 in SEC play, Alabama has stayed in the thick of the conference race, but the schedule has not exactly eased up on a team already working through several injuries to key players.

Next up is LSU on Nov. 7, and that matchup looms as one of the biggest on the calendar no matter where either program sits in the standings. For Alabama, the open date is more than just a pause in the schedule. It is a needed window to get healthier, clean up what has shown up over the first eight games and prepare for a rivalry test that could shape the rest of the season. [Read more 🡒]

Alabamas Bye Week Suddenly Comes With Real Stakes For The Tide

Alabamas open date arrives with more than just a chance to catch its breath. With injuries piling up around key players, the bye week gives the staff a little time to reset, get healthier and take stock of where the Tide stand in a conference race that is still very much alive. It also comes at a moment when the schedule has paused just enough for the rest of the SEC to keep shaping Alabamas path.

The bigger picture is what makes this weekend matter. Results elsewhere in the league could alter Alabamas route to the SEC championship game and the College Football Playoff, turning a quiet Saturday into a scoreboard-watching exercise with real consequences. And beyond the standings, there is already outside chatter about Kalen DeBoer and possible coaching interest from USC, another reminder that even during a bye week, the conversation around Alabama rarely stays still for long.
