Alabama’s push for Preston Glasco keeps getting harder to ignore.
The 3-star cornerback, who recently backed off his UConn pledge, has turned into one of the Crimson Tide’s biggest priorities in the 2027 class. Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina all jumped in after his decommitment, but the momentum appears to be leaning Tuscaloosa’s way after a busy stretch of visits.
Glasco was in Alabama over the weekend for the Crimson Tide’s game against South Carolina, and he wasted little time locking in another trip. Per 247’s Brett Greenberg, the 6-foot-3 defensive back will be back in Tuscaloosa in two weeks for Alabama’s matchup with Georgia.
That will be his third time at Alabama this fall.
He was first in town for the season opener against East Carolina, when he picked up an offer from the Crimson Tide. From there, he circled the South Carolina game as an official visit and has now added another return trip. That kind of repeat traffic stands out.
He has also visited Georgia and South Carolina, but there have been no return trips reported for either program. Glasco is also reportedly talking about a possible Tennessee visit, though that may be coming too late to change the shape of his recruitment.
No prediction has been made yet, and Alabama still has work to do, but the pattern is pretty clear: the Crimson Tide have kept him coming back, and that usually says plenty.
Glasco fits the kind of corner Maurice Linguist has tended to chase - long, rangy, and built for development. Alabama already has one corner committed in the 2027 class, 3-star Darrius White, another Georgia native.
If Alabama lands both White and Glasco, it would give the Tide a pair of developmental corners for the future. And with the way the roster looks right now, the position isn’t a massive immediate need for Kalen DeBoer in this cycle. Barring any Transfer Portal losses, Alabama is expected to lose only Zabien Brown to the NFL Draft and should bring back Dijon Lee, Carmelo O'Neal, Jorden Edmonds, and Zyan Gibson.
Still, adding both White and Glasco would be a strong haul. Their ratings may not jump off the page, but the interest around them says plenty about how highly major programs view them.

Mississippi State comes into Saturdays matchup with Alabama carrying real momentum, and much of it has flowed through Kamario Taylor. The Bulldogs are 4-0 and ranked No. 16 in the AP poll, with Taylor piling up 1,377 total yards and 15 touchdowns in the early going while steering a fast-paced offense that has made people around the league take notice. Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack added to that sense of urgency by calling Taylor possibly the best quarterback his defense has seen in the last three years. Wommack pointed to Taylors deep ball, his RPO decision-making and the way he leads a quick, athletic receiving group, all of which help explain why Mississippi State has looked so sharp. Alabama Has Little Margin For Error In Starkville After One Warning Sign
Alabama came out of the South Carolina game with plenty to feel good about, but the film also left behind a few reminders that there is still work to do. The Tide looked sharp in stretches, yet the same concerns that have lingered at times this season showed up again in run defense and in the back end of the secondary, two areas that can get exposed quickly if a game gets loose.
Starkville does not figure to offer much room for a slow start. Mississippi State brings a physical running game and a quarterback in Kamario Taylor who can force defenses to stay honest, which means Alabama will need cleaner execution on both sides of the ball than it has shown in some recent moments. DeBoer Just Put Alabamas Recruiting Pressure In Clear Focus
Kalen DeBoer used a recent look inside Alabamas recruiting operation to put the programs priorities in sharper focus, and it started with the role Courtney Morgan has carved out as the first general manager in school history. Morgan has become a central figure in coordinating the Tides recruiting work, setting weekly meetings that bring the recruiting staff and coaching assistants onto the same page as Alabama tries to keep its roster-building machine moving in step with the standards that come with the job.
The broader picture is one of transition and pressure, because Alabamas class rankings have fluctuated and the program has already leaned heavily on the transfer market, bringing in 20 transfers last offseason.
