Alabama Gets A Crucial Chance To Stop This Slide At Home

Alabama looks to protect home-field advantage against a determined Texas A&M team in a critical clash that could define both squads' turbulent seasons.

Saturday’s meeting between Alabama and Texas A&M comes in carrying a very different feel than the one everyone circled before the season. What looked like one of the marquee matchups of the college football calendar has turned into a game both teams badly need, with No. 13 Alabama trying to stop a slide and Texas A&M trying to steady itself in SEC play.

Alabama enters homecoming at 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the SEC after back-to-back losses, including last weekend’s 26-10 defeat at Tennessee. The Crimson Tide were beaten up at the line of scrimmage, and the offense never found a rhythm while turning it over four times. This will also be Alabama’s final game before its bye week.

Texas A&M arrives at 4-3 and 1-3 in the SEC after a 41-0 shutout of The Citadel. The Aggies used both Marcel Reed and Brady Hart at quarterback in that win, and the pair combined to go 16 of 25 with two touchdowns. In SEC play, though, the results have been shaky, with the only conference victory coming against Arkansas.

The matchup also carries some history. Alabama and Texas A&M last met on Oct. 7, 2023, when the Crimson Tide won 26-20 in College Station.

Jalen Milroe threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns in that game, his best passing performance of the season. The teams played every year from 2013 to 2023 as SEC West opponents, but they haven’t faced each other since the league expanded in 2024.

Texas A&M has not won in Tuscaloosa since 2012, when Johnny Manziel was in the middle of his Heisman season and the Aggies made their first trip to Alabama as SEC members.

Here’s the setup for Saturday:

Who: Texas A&M (4-3, 1-3 SEC) at No. 13 Alabama (5-2, 3-2 SEC)

Where: Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Radio: Crimson Tide Sports Network (Play-By-Play: Chris Stewart, Color: Tyler Watts, Sideline: Damion Square, Host: Roger Hoover)

Brandon Miller Just Reached A New Level For Alabama Basketball

Brandon Millers rise from Alabama standout to NBA centerpiece just hit another milestone, with the former Crimson Tide star set to enter his fourth season in Charlotte after a huge jump in stature with the Hornets. Drafted No. 2 overall in 2023, Miller has already established himself as one of the most prominent pro products in Alabama basketball history, and his production last season only strengthened that case as he finished north of 20 points per game.

Charlotte and Miller agreed to a contract extension before the start of the 2026-27 season, keeping the franchise tied to one of its youngest building blocks for the long haul. The deal also puts him in a unique spot in Alabama basketball lore, giving him the biggest NBA payday ever for a former Tide player and underscoring just how quickly his profile has climbed since leaving Tuscaloosa. Alabama Just Took Part In A Tennessee First Fans Will Hate

Tennessees crowd reached a level Neyland Stadium had never seen before in the Volunteers win over Alabama, with the atmosphere producing the highest scientifically verified crowd noise in college football history. The peak reading, 130.3 decibels, came late in the third quarter and was tied to a defensive play, adding another jolt to a place already known for being one of the sports most difficult road environments.

For Alabama, the kind of noise that usually gets remembered in rival territory just became part of the record book, and not in a way Tide fans will enjoy revisiting. The measurement topped the previous verified benchmark set at Penn State during Ohio States trip in 2007, giving Tennessee a new standard for home-field volume and a fresh bragging point in one of college footballs most heated matchups. Tennessee Just Made Alabama's Misery Impossible To Ignore

The Tennessee rivalry has turned into an uncomfortable marker for Alabama, and the latest trip to Knoxville only made that harder to ignore. After winning 15 straight meetings from 2007 through 2021, the Crimson Tide have now dropped three in a row there, a shift that says plenty about how much the balance has changed in a series that used to feel almost automatic on one side.

The frustration spilled over quickly after the loss, with fans taking to The Paul Finebaum Show to vent about the coaching staff and the teams performance. Callers like Legend and Handsome Joe reflected the mood around the program, turning the radio segment into a loud referendum on decisions, execution and pride, the kind of public backlash that tends to follow a loss when a rivalry has stopped feeling familiar.
