Alabama football is making waves once again with another key addition to their 2027 recruiting class. Oakley Keegan, a promising tight end from Liverpool, New York, has committed to the Crimson Tide, choosing Alabama over offers from UConn, Vanderbilt, and Rutgers. His commitment was announced with a nod to Proverbs 16:3, ending with a spirited "Roll Tide."
Keegan joins a growing list of talent in Alabama's 2027 recruiting class, becoming the fourth commitment and the second tight end alongside New Jersey's four-star recruit, Colt Lumpris. The class also boasts in-state four-star quarterback Trent Seaborn and Georgia three-star cornerback Nash Johnson III.
Alabama is clearly focused on strengthening its tight end roster. Following the successful recruitment of four-star tight end Mack Sutter in 2026 and Marshall Pritchett and Kaleb Edwards in 2025, the Crimson Tide is continuing its tradition of attracting top-tier high school talent.
While Keegan isn't ranked yet and his stats are modest-with 12 catches for 215 yards and two touchdowns during his freshman and sophomore years-his potential is undeniable. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 240 pounds, Keegan fits the physical profile Alabama seeks in a tight end. Despite missing his junior season due to an Achilles injury, he has clocked an impressive 4.65-second 40-yard dash, showcasing his athleticism and potential impact on the field.
Alabama's strategic focus on building depth and talent at the tight end position is evident, and Keegan's commitment is another step in fortifying their future lineup.
