Alabama Lands Versatile Athlete Amari Sabb, Younger Brother of Crimson Tide Safety Keon Sabb
Alabama isn’t done stacking talent for its 2026 recruiting class, and the latest addition comes with a familiar last name that Tide fans already know well. Amari Sabb, a dynamic three-star athlete out of Glassboro, New Jersey, has committed to Alabama, choosing the Crimson Tide over Oregon.
If the name rings a bell, it should-Amari is the younger brother of current Alabama safety Keon Sabb. And while Keon is making his mark on the defensive side, Amari brings a different kind of spark to the roster.
According to 247Sports' composite rankings, Sabb is the No. 1,180 overall prospect in the 2026 class and the No. 82 athlete nationally. But don’t let the star rating fool you-this is a player who does a little bit of everything, and does it all at a high level.
A Swiss Army Knife for the Tide
Standing 5-foot-9 and weighing in at 170 pounds, Sabb was a do-it-all playmaker for Glassboro High School. On offense, he lined up primarily in the slot but made his presence felt all over the field.
He racked up 916 receiving yards on 53 catches and added 823 rushing yards on just 65 carries. That’s over 1,700 yards of total offense, capped off with 26 total touchdowns.
And he saved his best for last. In the final four games of his 2025 season, Sabb took over as Glassboro’s primary back and ran wild-posting 599 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in that stretch alone. That kind of late-season surge shows not just talent, but toughness and the ability to shoulder a heavy workload when it matters most.
But Sabb didn’t just shine with the ball in his hands. On defense, he lined up at nickel back and made a real impact.
His 2025 stat line included 28 tackles, six pass breakups, and six interceptions. Over his high school career, he finished with 14 picks in 48 games-numbers that speak to his instincts and ball skills on the back end.
What He Brings to Alabama
While Alabama hasn’t locked him into a specific role just yet, Sabb projects as an offensive weapon at the next level. Whether it’s in the slot, out of the backfield, or even returning kicks, he gives the Tide a versatile athlete who can create mismatches all over the field. His combination of speed, vision, and toughness makes him the kind of player who can thrive in a system that knows how to get playmakers the ball in space.
He’s the third player to commit to Alabama since the early signing period in December, joining a pair of three-star receivers-Maurice Mathis Jr. out of Georgia and in-state prospect Aubrey Walker. With Sabb now in the fold, Alabama maintains the No. 2 class in the nation behind USC, per 247Sports’ composite team rankings.
A Family Affair in Tuscaloosa
The Sabb name is becoming a fixture in Tuscaloosa. With Keon already contributing on defense and Amari now committed for 2026, the Crimson Tide are building a strong family pipeline. And they may not be done yet-Alabama is also in the mix for Xavier Sabb, a five-star receiver in the 2027 class who currently ranks No. 24 nationally.
The idea of three Sabb brothers suiting up for the Tide in back-to-back-to-back classes is more than just a feel-good story-it’s a testament to Alabama’s ability to build and maintain relationships that go beyond the field.
For now, the focus is on Amari, a high-upside athlete with the kind of versatility that Nick Saban’s staff has long valued. Whether he’s making defenders miss in the open field or locking down receivers in the slot, Sabb brings a competitive edge and playmaking ability that should make him a valuable piece of Alabama’s future.
