Alabama Fans Should Be Watching This Spain Park WR Closely

Spain Park's dynamic duo of Nash Davis and Barrett Price emerges as a formidable force in Alabama high school football, capturing attention in the updated Best in Bama rankings.

Spain Park’s Barrett Price and Nash Davis have spent years building something most high school duos never get the chance to develop: real chemistry before the lights ever got bright.

That connection is now part of a bigger conversation around Alabama high school football. In the latest Best in Bama rankings, the state’s top quarterback-wide receiver pairings belong to Thompson and Selma, the only schools with both a passer and a receiver listed among the seven quarterbacks and seven wideouts in the updated group.

Thompson’s combo features Alabama commit Trent Seaborn and junior Dedrick Kimbrough, while Selma is powered by freshman quarterback Cole Moody and Alabama slot receiver commit Cedrick Simmons.

Spain Park’s duo is a little different. Price is the newest addition to Best in Bama, and unlike the other top pairings, he and Davis still have another season together after this one. That matters, because their timing goes back to first grade, when they were already linking up in flag football for Price’s dad at the Hoover Met.

Davis, a 6-foot-5 junior in his first season as the starter after replacing Clemson freshman Brock Bradley, is starting to draw college attention. Price is already deep into the recruiting process himself, with offers from SEC and ACC programs.

“Getting to play with Nash is something really special,” Price said. “We’re always on the same page because we’ve worked at it a long time.

He knows my speed and how I get open. People are starting to notice how good he is and what we can do.”

The Jaguars are 6-4 and heading into a playoff game at Buckhorn after surviving a rugged Class 6A, Region 3 schedule. Their win at Hoover three weeks ago was a clear turning point, and Davis and Price were central to it, connecting on touchdown passes of 36 and 40 yards in a 36-29 victory.

“The Hoover game was a rivalry and the whole town was there watching, so having that good of a game was really special,” Price said. “Our whole team started to gel and gain confidence. The past few games we’ve really taken off.”

Price’s rise has happened off the field, too. The 5-11, 175-pound junior said his recruiting surged over the summer, when he visited Notre Dame, Clemson, SMU, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, Stanford and Tennessee. He has also been to games at Florida, SMU, Clemson and LSU this season.

He says he’s open in the process, but one school has always had a special place in his life.

“My dad played at Tennessee, so I went to a lot of their games and even had a jersey and little plastic helmet,” Price said.

Jason Price was a quarterback with Peyton Manning in 1995 and 1996 after transferring from North Carolina State, and his son says the dream started early.

“Some kids just dream of playing college football. I told my dad that’s what I wanted to do when I was in first grade,” Price said. “I’ve never looked back or stopped working toward that goal.”

That goal is still ahead, but for now Price and Davis are chasing something else: a claim as the state’s best quarterback-receiver duo.

Lane Kiffins Alabama Problem Just Got Bigger In The Playoff

Lane Kiffins history against Alabama has been one of the more stubborn subplots of his head-coaching career, and it gets another layer now with a playoff game looming between No. 5 Alabama and No. 14 LSU. Kiffin has gone 0-5 against the Crimson Tide as a head coach, a run that has followed him through different stops and different stakes, and it has made Alabama a particularly frustrating matchup whenever his teams have crossed paths with the Tide.

Now the setting is even bigger, with LSU favored and the result carrying real weight for both sides of the coaching tree. For Alabamas staff, it is another high-pressure test against a familiar opponent with a familiar face on the other sideline. For Kiffin, it is another chance to finally change a storyline that has followed him for years, and one that would only grow louder if this one goes the wrong way. [Read more 🡒]

Alabama Faces A Brutal Road Test That Could Decide Everything

A trip to Baton Rouge in Week 10 already carries enough weight, but this one arrives with even more on the line because Alabama and LSU both enter with two losses. The matchup has the feel of a separator game, the kind that can reshape the rest of the season in a hurry, and the Tide will need cleaner football than they have shown at times if they want to leave with control of their own path.

Keelon Russell sits at the center of Alabamas hopes, while LSU brings a pass rush that can force a quarterback into hurried decisions and ugly mistakes. Add in the Tides issues with penalties and injuries, and the margin for error gets thin fast, especially against a rival that has made a habit of turning high-stakes games into pressure cookers. Shaun Alexander Revealed What Made Alabama The Right Fit

Shaun Alexanders path to Alabama was shaped long before he became one of the programs most recognizable stars, and he recently revisited that decision while talking through his recruitment on a podcast. The former Crimson Tide standout said Alabama stood out to him for the way the program carried itself, pointing to the leadership and integrity he saw in Tuscaloosa as the qualities that made it feel like the right place.

Alexander also had strong connections elsewhere during that recruiting stretch, with friendships that included Charles Woodson and Randy Moss, which helped make the process more personal than purely football-driven. Even so, Alabama ultimately won out, and Alexander made clear that the decision came down to more than just fit on the field, with Michigan lingering as the school that came closest to changing his path.
