Alabama Fans May Have One Transfer Regret Already

Deck: Discover how Alabama's football team is faring in the 2026 season after a major roster shake-up through outgoing transfers and strategic new additions.

Alabama’s offseason transfer churn has already started to tell a story six weeks into the 2026 season.

The Crimson Tide added 20 new faces through the NCAA Transfer Portal, and 23 players from the 2025-26 roster moved on. At the midway point of the regular season, several of those departures are making noticeable contributions elsewhere, while others are still finding their footing.

One of the clearest production lines belongs to former Alabama receiver Isaiah Horton. Through six games, he has 19 catches for 270 yards and three touchdowns. That’s been one of the steadier stat sets among the Tide’s outgoing transfers so far.

On the offensive line, Wilkin Formby has become an immediate piece for Texas A&M. He has started all six games and has logged snaps at both right guard and tackle this season. Per PFF, his overall blocking grade sits at 69.1.

Noah Carter has also made his presence felt at Georgia Tech. In three games, the EDGE has posted 8 tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss, 2 sacks and a forced fumble. His production has come despite being limited by injury.

Elsewhere, James Smith has gotten on the field for Ohio State in all six games, finishing with 6 tackles, 1 tackle-for-loss and 1 pass breakup. Fellow former Alabama defender Qua Russaw has played in six games for the Buckeyes as well, recording 13 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and 1 sack.

Ohio State has also gotten work from cornerback Cam Calhoun, who has 6 tackles and 1 pass breakup in six games. Keon Keeley has appeared in six games for Notre Dame and has 6 tackles and 1 pass deflection.

Jordan Renaud’s move to Ole Miss has produced a modest defensive line stat line: 5 tackles, 2 tackles-for-loss, 1 sack and 2 quarterback hurries in five games.

South Carolina’s Kelby Collins has been active too, with 13 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, 1 sack, 1 pass breakup and 1 pass deflection in six games.

A few other former Tide players have earned roles, even if the counting stats are lighter. Arkel Anugwom has appeared in three of Northwestern’s six games at left guard. Olaus Alinen has played in six games for Kentucky and has 4 receptions for 54 yards.

There are still blanks on the board for some of the outgoing names listed so far, including Micah Debose at Vanderbilt and running back Richard Young at Colorado, with no stats provided in the source check at this point.

SEC Response To Alabamas Georgia Frustration Wont Ease Many Fans

The aftermath of Alabamas game with Georgia has turned less on the final outcome than on the officiating decisions that left plenty of Crimson Tide fans frustrated. Several calls were disputed during the game, including a no-call on a potential pass interference, and the conversation spilled into the public view as SEC commissioner Greg Sankey addressed how the league handles those kinds of controversies.

Sankey said the conference does not comment on judgment calls made by officials, while also stressing that officiating is difficult and that the SEC will review errors involving rule application. For Alabama fans still looking for clarity, though, that distinction is unlikely to calm much of the noise around a game that already had enough contentious moments to linger well beyond the final whistle. National Analyst Reignites Georgia Alabama Officiating Debate After Bulldogs Win

Joel Klatt has stirred the pot again in the aftermath of Georgias win over Alabama, using his podcast to revisit the kind of officiating debate that tends to linger long after the final whistle. The national analyst pointed to a non-called pass interference in the fourth quarter as the clearest example of what he felt went Georgias way, framing it as a moment that may have helped shape how the game played out.

For Alabama fans, the frustration is obvious because the loss already carried plenty of weight in a marquee matchup. Klatt did not go so far as to suggest the Crimson Tide were out of the national picture, though, making clear he still views Alabama as a legitimate College Football Playoff championship contender despite the controversy that followed the game. Nate Oats Signals Progress As Alabama Waits On Aden Holloway

Aden Holloways return to Alabama basketball is still on hold, but the situation around his suspension has moved in a more encouraging direction. Holloway is serving a five-game absence tied to a spring arrest on marijuana charges, a stretch that includes three exhibition games and two regular-season games, even though those charges were dismissed after he completed the Second Chance Program. He has already been reinstated to the roster, which at least gives Alabama a clearer path forward as it waits for the final green light.

Nate Oats and athletics director Greg Byrne have both spoken publicly about Holloways progress, a sign the program is tracking the situation closely rather than treating it as a distant off-field issue. For Alabama, the delay matters because Holloway is not just back in the system, he is still not allowed to play, leaving the Tide to manage the early schedule without him while the last step in the process plays out.
