No. 13 Alabama heads into its sixth SEC game of the 2026 season without two starters, with cornerback Zabien Brown and running back EJ Crowell both ruled out for Saturday’s home game against No. Texas A&M.
The game is set for Oct. 24 at 2:30 p.m. CT, and the SEC’s mandatory availability report will continue to be part of the buildup since it applies to conference matchups.
On the initial report, players are listed as “probable,” “questionable,” “doubtful,” or “out.” On game day, they can then be labeled a “game-time decision” or “out.”
If a player disappears from the report, that means he is officially available.
Brown and Crowell both left for the locker room in the second quarter. Brown later returned in street clothes, while Crowell remained in uniform but did not come back into the game.
On Monday, Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said both players are dealing with lower leg injuries and will be monitored during the week. DeBoer said he expects Crowell "to practice for the week, for sure."
There are other notable injury updates around the roster. ESPN’s Katie George reported on the broadcast just before kickoff in Knoxville that Alabama captain and wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams had arthroscopic surgery for a meniscus injury he has been managing for the last three weeks. He sat out Alabama’s loss to Tennessee, and DeBoer "would not expect him to be practicing all week long."
Center Racin Delgatty was hurt late in the Oct. 10 loss to Georgia and was unavailable against Tennessee. His status moved from questionable to doubtful to out over the three days before that game. DeBoer said Monday that Delgatty is "progressing pretty well" but "he can be week-to-week."
Nose tackle Terrance Green was injured late in the first half against Georgia, did not return, and then re-aggravated an issue from the previous week. He also missed the Tennessee game. DeBoer said Green is "week-to-week right now."
Edge rusher Desmond Umeozulu has not played since the win over Florida State because of turf toe. DeBoer said on Oct. 5 that Umeozulu will need "probably a couple more weeks."
Freshman (JUCO) defensive back Nick Sherman still has not made his Crimson Tide debut after getting hurt during a fall scrimmage. Defensive lineman Fatutoa Henry is questionable for Texas A&M, though DeBoer did not bring him up when he discussed injuries on Monday.
Alabama also has two players done for the year. Jeremiah Beaman and Cayden Jones will both miss the 2026 season.
Beaman tore his ACL in practice about two weeks before the opener, and it was the second straight year he suffered that injury after tearing his ACL in Week 1 of the 2025 season. DeBoer announced Jones’ season-ending news on Sept. 21, though he did not disclose the junior’s diagnosis.

Alabama Could Catch Texas A&M At The Perfect Time
Texas A&Ms first injury report for Week 8 gives Alabama a clearer picture of the challenge ahead, and it comes with some notable absences. Wide receivers Terry Bussey and Kelshaun Johnson, along with offensive lineman Blake Ivy, were listed out, while several other key names landed in the questionable column as the buildup to Saturday continues. For an Alabama team trying to measure itself in conference play, any edge in availability matters, especially against a roster that has already had to manage its health carefully.
Mike Elko said the decision to rest injured players in the previous game was valuable for recovery, which is the kind of detail Alabama will be watching closely as the week unfolds. The report does not settle everything yet, but it does hint at a game that could look different depending on who is able to go, and that uncertainty is exactly what makes this matchup worth tracking all the way to kickoff. Alabama's Offensive Line Is Under Pressure After A Brutal Wake-Up Call
The day after Alabamas loss to Tennessee, the focus quickly turned to the line play that helped sink the offense. Starting right guard Michael Carroll owned up to the units struggles, and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb also took responsibility as the Crimson Tide tried to sort through what went wrong. Offensive line coach Adrian Klemm went even further, calling the performance embarrassing and stressing that the standard has to be higher.
Now the challenge is less about words than response, with Texas A&M up next as a chance to show the problems were a one-game collapse rather than a deeper issue. Alabamas front has been put on notice, and the next outing will say a lot about whether the group can clean up the mistakes that were exposed in Knoxville. [Read more 🡒]
Alabama Faces A Texas A&M Threat That Could Change Everything
Texas A&M is heading back into conference play with one of the leagues toughest assignments, a road date at No. 13 Alabama in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The matchup comes at an interesting moment for the Crimson Tide, who are trying to steady themselves after a loss to Tennessee, and it puts another spotlight on a game that already has plenty of SEC weight attached to it.
The Aggies will bring a few players worth watching into Saturdays 2:30 kickoff on ABC, including freshman running back KJ Edwards, edge rusher Keelon Russell and kicker David Olano. If Texas A&M is going to make this a real threat for Alabama, it likely has to come through those kinds of individual contributions, especially in a road environment where every possession matters.
