Alabama and LSU meet in a November matchup that already feels loaded with pressure on both sides. Both teams enter at 6-2, and plenty of the college football playoff chatter has pushed them into the “bubble teams” conversation.
For Alabama fans, it’s LSU Hate Week. For LSU fans, it’s the same story in reverse.
Either way, this one matters.
FanDuel has Alabama as a 4.5-point underdog with an Over/Under of 53.5. The game kicks off at 2:30 p.m.
CT on ABC, and it goes down in Baton Rouge, where LSU has gone 5-0 at Tiger Stadium in the 2026 season. The Crimson Tide have handled business in Baton Rouge before, including in 2024 during Kalen DeBoer’s first season in Tuscaloosa, but this trip comes with a different set of questions.
LSU’s season has been a strange one from a betting standpoint. The Tigers were over the number in four of their first six games, then covered in their last two. Overall, they’re 5-3 against the spread and 5-3 on the Over/Under.
The full run tells the story. LSU opened with a 51-10 win over Clemson as a 10.5-point favorite, then beat Louisiana Tech 45-14 but failed to cover the 34.5-point line.
The Tigers lost 32-24 at Ole Miss, beat Texas A&M 35-6, rolled McNeese 63-14, then dropped a wild 35-34 game at Kentucky. Since then, they shut out Mississippi State 31-0 and beat Auburn 38-17.
A closer look at the schedule raises the same question: what’s LSU’s best win? The Tigers are 1-2 on the road, and the two teams that beat them, Ole Miss and Kentucky, both look like CFP candidates.
Clemson and Texas A&M were the marquee wins, but both of those programs have fallen off. Auburn is 4-4.
Mississippi State has been exposed without QB Kamario Taylor. That leaves LSU with a résumé that looks good on paper, but not quite as clean when you peel it back.
Offensively, LSU has been explosive. The Tigers are tied for seventh in the nation in scoring at 40.1 points per game, and they haven’t scored fewer than 24 points in any game this season.
Defensively, they’re giving up 16.0 points per game, which ranks 16th in FBS. They’ve held six opponents under 20 points, including one shutout.
Alabama’s betting profile has swung the other way in recent weeks. The Tide were undervalued early, then the market caught up and pushed them too far in the other direction over the last three games.
They opened the season by beating East Carolina 48-10 as a 29.5-point favorite, then won at Kentucky 45-17, beat Florida State 50-36, handled South Carolina 49-18, and crushed Mississippi State 56-23. Then came the loss to Georgia, a 20-17 defeat as a 1.5-point favorite.
A week later, Tennessee beat Alabama 26-10. The Tide bounced back with a 31-20 win over Texas A&M, though they didn’t cover the 13.5-point spread.
The early part of the season made the over look appealing in Alabama games. The Georgia matchup was expected to be tight, but the Tennessee result was a shocker.
Against Texas A&M, Alabama spent three quarters in a fight before flipping the switch late. The question now is whether that switch stays on.
On the road, Alabama is 2-1, with wins at Kentucky and Mississippi State. The Kentucky game was part of the Wildcats’ only loss of the season, while the Starkville win came against Kamario Taylor before he left late with an injury. The Tennessee loss was ugly, but the overall résumé still looks a little stronger than most.
There’s also some injury news to watch. The official reports come out Wednesday and can change through the week, but several key Alabama players are trending toward returning: Ryan Williams, Racin Delgatty, Terrance Green, and Zabien Brown.
One more angle to keep an eye on is the turnover battle. LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt has put together two strong games in a row after a shaky first half of the season, and he has not turned the ball over in either of those outings.
Alabama, meanwhile, ranks third in FBS with 19 turnovers gained and sits 11th in turnover margin at plus-7. If the Tide are going to pull the upset, that edge has to show up again.
The numbers point to a game that could stay under 30 points for both teams, but the spread feels a little tight at 4.5. Alabama plus the points is at least in the conversation. The projected 29-24 LSU final is one possibility, but it’s far from a lock.

Alabama Just Got An Early Reality Check For LSU Showdown
The first betting line for Alabamas Week 10 trip to LSU already says plenty about how close this rivalry matchup is expected to be. Both teams are ranked, both are sitting on similar records, and both come in off bye weeks, which only adds to the sense that this one could carry real weight in the College Football Playoff race and the SEC title picture.
Even with Alabama holding a 58-27-5 edge in the series and a three-game winning streak in the rivalry, the opening number has LSU favored by 4 points. For a game this early on the 2026 schedule, it is a reminder that the Tigers are expected to bring plenty of punch at home, and that Alabama may already have a little extra motivation as the matchup starts to take shape. Derrick Henry Keeps Building An All Time Case Alabama Fans Love
Derrick Henry kept adding to a rsum that already sits in rare company, even in a Ravens loss to the Bills. The former Alabama star scored again Sunday, and with it came another benchmark for a career that keeps climbing the all-time lists, the kind of production Crimson Tide fans have long watched with pride as he continues to deliver on Sundays.
The touchdown was Henrys 40th rushing score with two different franchises, putting him alongside Marcus Allen and Marshall Faulk in that class, according to NFL and ESPN Insights. It also gave him 136 career touchdowns, tying Faulk for seventh-most in NFL history, another reminder that Henrys place in the record book is no longer a future conversation but an ongoing one. Alabama Just Added More Pressure To A Huge Stretch For Nate Oats
Zion Greens commitment gives Alabama basketball another headline in the 2027 class, and it arrives at a time when Nate Oats could use every bit of momentum he can get. The five-star power forward joins Chase Lumpkin in that group, a sign that Alabama is still landing premium talent while the program continues to sit near the top of the national conversation. The Crimson Tide also climbed one spot to No. 9 in the AP Poll, keeping the profile high as the season moves deeper into a critical stretch.
The timing matters because the pressure around Alabama is only growing. The Tide opened as a 3.5-point underdog against LSU before the line swung heavily in the Tigers favor, and there are always ripple effects around recruiting when coaching changes hit elsewhere, including Florida State moving on from Mike Norvell. Even with Alabama soccers regular-season finale loss to Mississippi State, the broader athletic department remains in the spotlight, and Oats now has another prized recruit attached to a stretch where every result seems to carry extra weight.
