Saturday’s NFL preseason slate is packed, and Tennessee football will have plenty of familiar faces scattered across it.
Across 10 games, 27 former Vols are rostered, though not all of them are expected to suit up. Some starters are being held out, and a few players are sidelined by injury. Still, there should be a decent amount of Tennessee representation on the field, including two quarterbacks fighting for opportunities.
Joshua Dobbs is expected to get work for the Lions after recently signing on to compete for a backup job in Detroit. On the other side of the country, Joe Milton III will try to keep building on an impressive first preseason outing last week as he continues his push to lock down the backup role behind Dak Prescott.
The day starts at noon ET with Washington visiting Detroit. The Commanders list OLB Joshua Josephs and DT Shy Tuttle, while the Lions have Dobbs, C Cade Mays, RB Jabari Small and DE Tyre West. Mays is injured.
At 1 p.m. ET, Buffalo meets Cleveland on NFL Network. The Bills have WR Joshua Palmer available, and the Browns will feature RB Dylan Sampson and WR Cedric Tillman.
Minnesota’s 1 p.m. ET matchup with Baltimore on ESPN Unlimited includes two more former Vols on the Vikings side: S Theo Jackson and WR Jauan Jennings. Baltimore does not have any Tennessee alums listed.
The 4 p.m. ET window brings Saints-Rams on ESPN Unlimited, where the Saints list RB Alvin Kamara as injured. Los Angeles has S Jaylen McCollough, DT Jaxson Moi and OLB Byron Young.
Also at 4 p.m. ET, the Giants and Dolphins meet on NFL Network. New York has CB Colton Hood and WR Jalin Hyatt, while Miami lists DT Matthew Butler and RB Jaylen Wright.
Later in the evening, Chicago and Cincinnati kick off at 7 p.m. ET, followed by Eagles-Patriots on NFL Network at 7 p.m.
ET and Chiefs-Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN Unlimited.
The night closes with Cowboys-Cardinals at 10 p.m. ET on NFL Network, where Milton is part of the Dallas roster for the late game.

Joey Aguilar is keeping himself in the NFL conversation, and Tennessee fans have a familiar name to watch as the preseason winds down. The former Vol quarterback turned in a sharp outing for the Jacksonville Jaguars against the Carolina Panthers, coming on in the second half and showing the kind of poise that can matter when teams are sorting out the back end of a roster.
Aguilar completed 9 of 10 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown, highlighted by a 29-yard scoring strike to rookie wide receiver Trebor Pea. Tennessee Scrimmage Put One Key Vols Battle Back In Focus
Tennessees second fall scrimmage brought a little more clarity to a few spots and a little more intrigue to one of the deeper battles on the roster. As the Volunteers continue preparing for the 2026 opener against Furman, the secondary got a boost from newcomers TJ Metcalf and Dejuan Lane, who both stepped in for injured Edrees Farooq and came away with interceptions. It was the kind of showing that can matter in August, especially for a defense still sorting out how the pieces fit after camp.
Faizon Brandon also flashed the running ability that can add another layer to Tennessees offense, but the job still appears unsettled at right tackle. Ory Williams and Jesse Perry remain locked in a competition there, and it is the sort of battle that can quietly shape how smooth everything else looks once the season starts.
