Anthony Belton is already on the radar before the 2026 season even kicks off.
The Green Bay Packers lineman landed on NFL writer Bucky Brooks’ 2026 All-Breakout Team, where he was listed at offensive guard as a player who could take a major step forward this year. Brooks pointed to the Packers’ ongoing offensive line renovation and singled out Belton’s size and style in a strong endorsement of what he might become.
“The Packers’ offensive line renovation has featured more big bodies taking spots in the lineup at offensive guard. Belton qualifies as a 6-6, 336-pound dancing bear at the line of scrimmage.
The extra- extra -large blocker specializes in knocking defenders off the ball and finishing his run-game reps with violence. While his coaches are preaching consistency throughout the offseason, the second-year pro has the tools and talent to become an elite player as an interior blocker.”
Belton’s move from right tackle to guard has already made him look better, but the numbers from last season still show plenty of room to grow. In Pro Football Focus grading, he finished with a 49.7 overall mark, which ranked 72nd out of 81 qualified offensive guards.
His pass-blocking grade was 43.3, good for 73rd, while his run-blocking grade came in at 51.9, placing him 66th. He played 487 snaps, which ranked 65th.
Even with those numbers, Belton matters to how this Packers offense comes together. The right side of the line is a key piece, and he’s also got Jager Burton, a fifth-round rookie, pushing for his job. That competition should keep the pressure on him to sharpen his game.
If Green Bay can get Belton to deliver even a modest level of play at right guard, it would go a long way toward keeping quarterback Jordan Love protected. His run-blocking also gives Josh Jacobs a chance to work inside and pick up yards between the tackles.
The Packers are expected to have one of the stronger offenses in the league, and Belton’s development is part of that picture. Training camp and the preseason will tell the story of whether he can turn the tools and talent Brooks sees into steady play for a team with real expectations.
